  1. Clicking: 
  2. Press and release the mouse button.

  4. In Text:
  5. Moves the text cursor to the place in the text where the "I-beam" cursor is positioned. Any previously selected text is deselected.

  7. In Graphics:
  8. Selects a single object. All previously selected objects are deselected.
  9.  
  10. Shift-Clicking:
  11. Hold down the shift key, then press and release the mouse button.

  13. In Text:
  14. Extends the current text selection range to the place clicked. Any previously selected text remains selected. Clicking on selected text will shorten the selection range to the place clicked.

  16. In Graphics:
  17. Allows selection of additional objects without deselecting any previously selected objects. Clicking on a selected object will deselect the object.

  19. Drag:
  20. Hold down the mouse button to select.

  23. Selects a range of characters (individual letters, numbers, etc.)

  25. In Graphics:
  26. Creates a selection rectangle. All objects within are selected.
